Not filled in a job application form for 5 years and can't remember how I did it back then....

...it is in Word format - should I type in the spaces provided or print it off and hand-write it? What is the most professional / etiquette-safe method?

Cheers.

Word process every time. Clarity rules unless they specify it must be handwritten.

Type it out. Much easier to read as mentioned above.

Either, but Word formatting is a PITA, write it.

Unless you are 16 and the job is for a paper round, I can't believe you even had to ask.

Probably depends entirely on how good your handwriting is.
If it's anything like mine (think Ape who has just been thrown a pen), then it's probably best to type it out wink

My wife obtained her teaching position off the back of a neatly hand-written application form.

Like I said, it's been a while.

I'm with you on this, I wouldn't know where to start on job applications!
