Find something you're good at/interested in then try to be at the top of your game. Don't be afraid to start at the very bottom. You realise in order to get to work for Porsche, most likey you'll be supervisor at a chicken factory -> Project engineer for a big company, but not in the automotive field -> Manager of biscuits at Proton -> Bottom rung at Porsche, then work your way up.

I know it requires work and experience but I was asking if I was going the right direction
I have a few years work experience in other things, just nothing that makes more than 12 an hour.
I was hoping to hear from people that are auto techs and can tell me if I am wasting my time or not

If I do go in this direction, I have no idea what to specialize in / what company to work for / should I make my own business, in order to meet my goal?
Does specializing in a specific thing, like engine repair, make more than doing everything?
Does making my own business get me more money than working for the highest paying manufacturer? If so will I ever meet my salary goal?

See, in my school all I have to do is graduate with a 3.0 and I can take a free few week porsche training program which automatically makes me certified to work at a porsche dealership. but that wasn't my question, I was hoping to hear what I could make and by the things I hear, even porsche techs don't make a whole lot. That's why I am asking for advice.

Work for the man or for yourself?

Unfortunately you need a few years experience before you can work for yourself and make good money. Its as simple as that.

Do 5 years with Porsche then set up on your own and be great at what you do. If you build your own business with a great reputation, they will come....
