Career cross roads............pigeon holed!?

Is it just the current jobs market or is it even easier to be pigeon holed. I want to have a change of direction and it seems that because of my motor trade sales and sales management experience no one outside of the industry wants to know.

I am currently working in a temp sales job at the momement but I am so keen to snatch a field sales type career.

All the job sites are full of recruitment companies and because they are getting a fee need to find people with specific experience.

Can anyone help and point me in the right direction please.
