As part of the neverending search for new jobs, I came across this Masters degree at Cranfield

Would definitely interest me. Although I have a relevant undergraduate degree, I have no commercial experience in this sector, only an awareness of some light aircraft/marine navigation systems.

Anyone able to comment on job prospects after doing a degree like this? UK or overseas..

Its excellent.

That on your CV pretty much lands you an interview alone if you are applying for a post in the relevent field and even if you arent, having a Cranfield technical MSc against your name still gets you taken seriously.

That's good to know. Given that I'm retraining from a different industry, do you think it's still expected to go in at a basic level, or does the MSc bump you up a bit?

Am looking into doing the automotive course at Cranfield. It carries a VERY good reputation in industry. Friend of mine did it then went straight into year 2 of a graduate scheme so it didnt even hold him back at all. Only downside really is the cost.

Depends what you mean by basic.

If you have a Cranfield technical MSc, you will get a technical interview. You will need experience of what you are trying to enter though if you want an experienced technical position.
