Evening all.

Was just wondering if i can get some opinions from employers or recruiters.

How do you look at a degree from the open university compared to one from a "Proper" university?

Are you more impressed that someone balanced work and learning, or do you see it as a route to avoid?

Any opinions welcome.

PS Sorry if this has been done before. I've seen threads regarding the Open University, but none of this kind.

When I employed people, I saw Open, as being as good as any other University, if not better, for the reason below.

Other Universities, some young students go because they don't have a job and they don't know what to do.

At Open, people go because they want to study for a degree or whatever it is they're doing there.

It is a bit of a toss up in my opinion (based on a recruiters point of view not a direct employer)

On one hand, as above an Open Uni degree is a proper degree as opposed to the majority of people who go for an "drinking degree" however some would question why you did an Open uni degree as opposed to going when you are 18 (I am presuming a good 90%+ of people who do it are older than 18-21).
