How would you approach this situation?

About 2 years ago I went through an interview process with a compnay for a job that I really wanted, 4 interviews later and a final meeting with the MD I was told that I had been successfull. However a week later a got a call from them saying sorry but new budgets for HQ (U.S company) meant they could take me on or anyone else for a little while at least. I was gutted and have always seen it as "the one that got away" They contacted me a few months later to invite me back in for a slightly different position but I had made a commitment to my current employer so I kindly declined.

2 weeks ago I got in touch with the chap at the company who interviewed my first to ask if they have an vacancies, I attched my CV and heard nothing for about 10 days. Then out of the blue I recieved an email from the company secretary saying that on reciept of CV the (new) MD would like to meet to discuss "current vacancies".

I am trying not to get to excited but is this a geniune opportunity or am I going to end up having a nice chat and cup of coffee with they guy and be left dissapointed.

The meeting is tomorrow, shall I treat it like any other interview?

Go and have a chat with them. Explain the history in case they are not aware. If they are decent people it should result in a productive meeting and a good set of contacts that you can use when you feel the time is right.

You'll never know if you don't go and talk to them.

You've nothing to lose and maybe quite a lot to gain.
