Too old to join up?

To cut a long story short, I was supposed to join the raf 3 years ago, but messed up my final interview. I'm debating trying again, but I'm now 27, 28 in Feb and I'm worried I'm gonna be too old. Anyone else here join later in life?

My brother has just joined (as an officer, aged 25, 26 next month) and from what he tells me then no, you would not be that old tbh. And the money is pretty good too.

Just called them, and have been informed that another application would be rejected. Oh well.

Did they give a reason? I'm in and know plenty of people who joined up later in life.

If you are going for Pilot then the max age is 24 I believe.

The first time I joined I bailed out at the begining of trade training, I was far to imature and just couldn't be bothered.
Then whilst having a good look at what a mess I had made of my life, 26 still living at home, st job and no chance of it getting any better, I joined back up.
Been in 9 and a half years now. And can honestly say it's the best decision I have ever made.
So if they took me back after fking them about like that I'm sure they will give you the chance. Keep on at the AFCO, find out why they wont give you another chance, it may just be your choice of trade, there are plenty of others.
Out of interest what trade are you interested in joining?

I tried to join up as a fire fighter last time. Basically I lied on my first interview saying I had never tried pot, then I was honest in my second interview and told the truth. They didn't like that. I have been wondering if its worth writing to someone?

Why should that matter to them?

It's the fact I lied thats the issue.
