Training T&C's
Discussion
I have been offered a completely necessary training course by my company, which I am due to attend next week. They have asked me to sign a training form that states I must repay the company the training fee, in full, if I leave within 12 months of completing the course. The course costs £2100
I checked the standard t&c's and they state 6 months. When I contacted HR they said it was because the training was specialised, that it can be extended to 12 months.
Quick question I guess is what can I do? I guess they can enforce what they want and my options are to take it or leave it? I understand these things exist but a year at full whack seems a little steep to me
I also argue that whilst the training is specialized, this is the sector I work in and imo its required training
Any help appreciated

we have this at work and it lasts for 2 years but its only full whack in the first year IIRC.
They only apply it to profressional qualification stuff that costs a lot of money and that we would benefit from as staff and could take those qualifications and utilise them elsewhere
technically spekaing its in my employers interests to have me have the qualifications but they have the bargaining power because its also in my interests to do it.
it owuldn;t apply to essential stuff like health and saftey etc
