WTD - Offshore wind turbine technicians / engineers

Chaps, one of our clients has just tasked us with a rather large project to fill 30 offshore engineer / technician positions.

To be considered; you must have experience of working on the maintenance or installation of offshore wind farms.

You can be based anywhere in the UK as the shift rotation is 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

Ideally you will posses up to date BOSIET & other offshore related qualifications/certificates.

Salaries are to £40k depending on experience and they are looking to get people started immediately.

The positions are permanent jobs.

but going by the shift rota you only work for 26 weeks per annum, therefore in reality its 40K for 6 months work, Im sure most of us could fill the other 26 weeks with a second job

Yup. None of the candidates placed thus far have felt it was low.

At this stage, they're ideally looking for people that can hit the ground running. This may change further down the line.

you are about at least 15k short of the average mech. tech job offshore IMO

I'm not short of anything chap. The client might be though.

As I said, we're not having much trouble filling these positions at the offered salary so it can't be that wide of the mark.

Not every offshore worker is a £500 per day O&G bloke.

I would be very interested in this.

I have an engineering background with Aero degree from Southampton, and was an Eng Officer in the RN. The only downside is that I have no offshore experience. I have several years design eng experience in the mech/aero tooling industry. I understand you don't want to have to train someone up, but if things change, please let me know. Am a quick learner, especially within engineering.

Based out of Devon and Norfolk, but happy to travel as required (within the UK ideally). If my CV would be of any use, please just shout and we can sort something out. Feel free to PM if its more convenient.

Offshore wind salaries are not up to speed with offshore oil and gas by a long way. It's slowly getting there though.

I'd quite fancy this myself but working in telecoms about the only real skill I could offer is working at height. If anything does turn up in the future then I'd be very interested.

Escargot, who is it that you work for if I may ask? I work in the O&G industry (only in Facilities Management) but I am looking for a change. If its worth your time I wouldnt mind sending my C.V in also. If it's not just say - I wont be offended.

slightly off topic but do these jobs ever open up to people with no formal engineering qualifications but who are willing to be trained?
