Anyone need a great freelance writer ?

Anyone out there looking for a great freelance writer ?

This is not an advert for me (I can't write for toffee) but rather my very good chum Simon. He, like lots of freelancers at the moment has hit a bit of a dry spell.

The writing he is best known for is modern Science Fiction, often with a humours twist. So lots of Dr Who and similar things.

The other writing he does is general freelance. Articles for magazines (a bunch in Airline ones apparently), comic books (Sponge Bob Squarepants!), historic pieces etc. I am guessing this is where most of you might have need for a writer.

I am very much not his agent but just want to help out a friend in need. So if you can think of anyone who needs a quick, professional writer drop me an email and I will pass on his details.

This is so hard to get into. I do news/political stuff as well as copywriting but so many people do it for free that it's hard to get paid work.

The thing is he has been doing freelance writing (as his only job) for about 10 years. It is only this year that has been hard. It seems like the usual people he goes to for work are putting off projects or trying to pay writers less.
I was just hoping people here might have projects that would be right for him.
