Because of the hours that I work I have quite large blocks of time off, sometimes up to four or five days in a row. I'm looking for something I can do in this spare time to make me a bit of extra money. The days off are sporadic, so I can't take a job that people normally do in their spare time as I can't commit to working set times. I've got a background in sales, and I'm pretty comfortable on the phone (No, I don't want to do a sex line) but I'm flexible as to what I'll do, eg working from home, driving, manual work etc. I'm not looking to make a fortune, just a bit of extra expendable and something to occupy me when all my mates are working their 9-5's. I'm quite motivated when the job is performance related so in an ideal world it would be something I can log on and do at any time of day or night, and the harder I work, the better the pay.

Any ideas gratefully recieved.

Ollie

**ETA - Title should read 'spare' time, not part time. Doh!***

I don't really know how to play poker, I fear I would actively lose money doing that.

Yeah, I could learn I suppose. I'm not sure if card games are really my forte though. I haven't heard of thos websites above, and they are blocked at work so I'll try and have a look later.

What is Amazon Turk?

You could try a telesales lead generation type job, getting paid for setting up meetings with new clients. Normaly there won't be a basic wage and are only paid for the ones that sit the meeting.

http://www.mturk.com/

You get paid for doing "human intelligence tasks" e.g. social media sites use them to approve every image posted, refusing any explicit ones etc. Also data mining companies use it for categorising text - read it and categorise it etc etc.

Is there any trick to using mturk to earn reasonable money? - I was bored and tried it and managed to earn 3 cents, but I can't see how it's possible to earn more than about 50 cents an hour.
