William Hague's special adviser has resigned over "untrue and malicious" allegations made against him, the Foreign Secretary has said.

There had been allegations on the internet that he and Christopher Myers had an inappropriate relationship.

Mr Hague said this was "utterly false" and denied his marriage was in trouble.

"Mr Hague said the story seemed to stem from the fact they "occasionally" shared hotel rooms during the election."

I can see why that might raise suspicions...why would a 'top politician' share hotel rooms with anyone, let alone a constituency aide?

Is it known if this chap is gay? it is the first time i have heard of him.

That picture could easily be a "happy couple" in Brighton enjoying a romantic stroll......

Why resign if it is "untrue and malicious"?

Maybe he got sick of unwarranted intrusion and speculation about his private life, and just didn't want the hassle?

If he was having an affair surely you wouldnt book into the same room at a hotel where all your fellow MP's are staying. Just Rumour mill again, my last company everyone shared rooms circa football style to save money on them!! Ended up with a few of us booking seperate rooms and splitting costs.

I just don't get it.

If it's all bks, say so and get on with the job.

If they're playing with each others bks, resign and confirm the fact. You don't resign because of speculation. You resign because of fact, and you're trying to stop the st hitting the fan, his willy, or both.

Something isn't right here scratchchin

It's obvious Hague is ***. There is nothing wrong with that.

Why doesn't he just pay Boris to impregnant his wife and give her the baby she's always wanted?
