Have left company (redundent) but owed wages
Discussion
Took voluntry redundency and have left the business recieved my P45 etc etc but the last wage slip they have given me shows that have not paid me the full amount of overtime. I have spoke to my old boss who agrees its a mistake but claims he doesnt know how to sort it as I am no longer on payroll.
Now he is notorious for burying his head in the sand when it comes to difficult issues and im wondering how long is reasonable for me to wait to have this rectified?

With most payrolls it is easy enough to reactivate a leaver for one pay period to enable payment of any outstanding monies. Or the company simply manually works out the payment due, less deductions, and sends you a cheque.
Contact HR and explain the situation, back it up in writing if necessary. Should take no more than a couple of days to sort.

Definitely this. Should especially not be a problem in the same tax year.Contact HR and explain the situation, back it up in writing if necessary. Should take no more than a couple of days to sort.
well no surprises that my boss didnt bother to contact me at all today as he obviously hasnt sorted anything.
Payrol and head office have not made a mistake at all. They have simply paid me what my boss has asked them to. He didnt tell them correctly.
Oh well, he may have a visitor monday morning then.....

You're looking for the 1996 Employment Rights Act s13 - right not to suffer unauthorised deduction(s) being explicitly referenced in your Compromise Agreement.

lay out all the calculations in a simple to follow letter and and email this to the payroll and HR managers, it should not present any problems to take your p45 back and treat you as a new employee using the gross pay and tax figures shown on the p45 during thier normal payroll run each week/month, once this has been done they can reissue the p45 with the revised and correct gross pay and tax deductions, they will also still be be able to state that your leaving date was your last day of employment regardless of any addtional monies owed to you, this will therefore tie in with any benefits forms you may have to complete.
An update:
I called boss today as he didnt ring Friday or Monday morning. Asked him what was going on and he said they were workng out the figures.....I then enquired as to when i can expect to be paid and was told they will try and have a cheque ready for me by the end of the week.
Not very happy and i feel im being fobbed off so gonna try head office again

keep a detailed list of events and actions/inactions with dates & times and names of staff you have psoken to with thier contact numbers, if you need to go down the claims or tribunal route they love facts and figures as they are very hard to defend providing they are factual and accurate
good luck
