Hi Everyone

Just a quick question for you all to shoot me down in flames on haha. I’ve been working as a plumber/pipefitter for past 7/8 years and enjoyed my time and worked on some interesting projects. I have been running as self employed (my own little company) for 3 years now and highs are high lows are low as we all know.

Thing is I've always wanted to get into the oil industry but not just rig work, ideally would love the chance to get into management or even take over BP ( ok last part bit O T T).I was just wondering if the PH elite have any knowledge or could point me in the direction of the way forward.

Just thought id add I don’t have any degrees but have an education up to a levels (don’t laugh) before I took my course as a plumber and also can speak another language (Turkish and northern).

I have been rejected from a lot of companies with most of the replies coming back regarding my skill set is not required.

I know the job market is hard some say flooded but thought my skills could be used and also develop me at the same time.

(I know it’s been a while since I posted this but just wanted to give an update)

The way into managment is from working on the rigs and drills, years on them then get to sit in an office. make a mint though

brother skipped the rig work, but the owner lives next door. bd.

You will find it very difficult to get a start with your work skills, it is a lot cheaper for the employers to use people from other EU countries instead.

Suggest you look at some other area to move into.

Slc: do you mean give up on oil industry or go into a different area ?
