Hourly rate for lecturing

My old man has just retired. For the past few years he has been doing the odd lecture at the local Uni through work, this didn't cost the Uni anything as work were paying for it.

The Uni want him to continue but obviously will have to pay him so what kind of hourly rate should he be charging?

If it's a repeat of previous lectures, 20-30 an hour.

If there's new stuff to be generated, then it's very easy to spend a couple of days preparing a one hour lecture. Unless he can find a few institutions to deliver it too, or he jsut wants to avoid boredom, quite a lot more. How much is really dependent on him.
