Hi if you dont mind me asking are you currently a fitter? as this will reflect on the style of interview they will conduct. What reigon is it by the way?

If you are already in the trade then expect some technical questions about the distribution network as well as the usuall ones about yourself, hobbies and interest ect.

best of luck its a great industry to be in and a very secure job, I am a jointer with said company.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes I am an electrical fitter. I used to work for Siemens Energy as a generator service engineer but unfortunately I was made redundant in June of this year.
My background has always been in power generation, having worked for generator manufacturers and service companies. While I have the knowledge I dont have the practical experience of working on transmission and distribution networks so was looking for a few pointers on what I need to gen up on prior to the interview.

The job is working out of Hinkley so I assume it will be East Midlands.
Cheers

As a fitter your main line of work will be substations so reading up on transformers, switch gear and associated equipment would be beneficial as well as different types of substation if your not familiar with them, such as grid and primary stations. Hope this helps
