Umbrella Companies

Hi,

I had a quick look with the search but I could not find much information.

I'm currently a student and I do one shift a week, weekend night time.

My current umbrella company take out 27 a week from my wage, not quite ideal.

I was wondering what other companies you contractors on here use? And what returns they get for there hard work.

I'm not massively keen on my own limited company as I am unsure what I am doing, but I am open to advice.

Russ, from personal experience - most umbrella companies will charge c£27 a week.

Unfortunately, it tends to debate on how they can work your expenses.

It's also worth noting that a limited company will only be beneficial upon a certain pay - taking into account the cost of opening said company, paying for an accountant (unless you do this yourself,) and the additional "Director fees"; corporation tax/ dividends etc. Plus the additional, time-consuming paperwork!

I have a baseline of 120 a day.
Anything under is for an umbrella company.
Anything over is for a limited company.

have a look at "trafalgar contractor solutions", i think the same kind of money but they are great

im with connor williams and they charge £15 a week regardless of earnings

Now is the time to be involved with in an umbrella company. When it gets towards the end of April, then I recommend a shorts and sandals company.
