Sick pay

Evening folks.
Last Monday I slipped on ice walking to work and badly sprained my wrist when I landed on my arse.
I had the week off work as I was unable to drive hence work.
I put in a self cert sick note to cover me for the week and returned to work today.
About half way through my shift My wrist started to ache and got worse as the day went on. I doubt I'll be able to go to work tomorrow and here's my main question.

Will I be able to go to my doctor for a sick note and continue my sick leave even though I was working today as it's the same problem?

Yes you can, and for sick pay purposes:

If a PIW starts within eight weeks of the end of a previous PIW, the periods are linked and count as one period of sickness.
