Sort of, I have done when in the police.
This included evac plans, marshalling coordination, reviewing partner agency plans (and telling one uppity council bod that having the council RVP within 500m of a large gas tank was all well and good but they would be stood there on their own if it was likely to go bang) and a fair bit more.

I did a few bits and pieces as a police officer, mainly as a layman (i.e. doing CBRN training and the like) and really enjoyed it. In fact, the latter was one of the best things I ever did.
I had a chat with an occupational psychologist recently and emergency planning was brought up as being suited to my mindset and some of my existing skills. I mean, I'm generally aware that there must be people who do it but had never really explicitly thought about it before. I appreciate it's a wide field and as such makes it kinda difficult to get decent information on how to get in to it; I appreciate it ranges from co-ordinating humanitarian disasters to volunteer civil planning on a local level.
Majority of training I've looked at seems to be angled towards those already in positions though, so I was wondering how people get in to things like that?

When I did mine I was recovering from surgery and it was a bit touch and go that I would regain fitness to go back to full duties.
I got stuck into Octavian, Simma and Evac plans as mentioned.
I ended up working with the council, LFB, LAS etc on their plans as well as the Police side of things.
All of the council people I met were ex-BiB and had been a contingency planner in the police and eased into the civilian role.
I was asked to apply for a post with the council, and training would have been given after starting. Although, to be fair, it was never mentioned what this might have been.
Year later I had a PC on my team who had a degree in Disaster Planning - which explained a lot as he was one. We had a chat about the what and whys of him joining the police and making my life harder, he said he was unable to get a job in Emergency planning without some form of experience, and his police life was a stepping stone to what he wanted to do.
He is still a PC and by all accounts, still a bell end.
I take it you have left the police now? I'd suggest speaking to your local councils and seeing if they have any vacancies coming up. It was 'Dead mens shoes', whether the current threat levels etc have changed this....
