Afternoon, I'm looking for a copy of the BS 5204-2:1977 paper for granite specs, if anyone would be able to furnish me with a copy?

I've already been on the website standardsuk.com, but they don't have a downloadable version annoyingly, and living in Bangkok the postage will take too long.

I know it's a BIG ask as it's an expensive document, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

It was your use of the Jobs forum that threw me for a minute, but it all makes sense now...

Just emailed over the 2 you were looking for (and the other 3 you referenced).

There are loads of standards covering granite - granite denomination (BS EN 12440) - Design, spec and installation of granite for pavements (BS7533:2010) - Testing of granite (EN1341), even a BS for headstones.....

What are you using the granite for?

The plan is to sell the granite in Qatar for the World Cup Construction projects they've got going on for 2022. I already have a friend who is a project manager out there that gave me the complete ASTM and the QCS 2007, but to get the contracts you have to work within the strict guidelines of all three standards.

If you get the time I would like to see the Testing of Granite file that you mentioned to see how it compares to the ASTM standards, as I should think the tests must be pretty similar for, the flexural strength, the abrasion resistance, the density, the water absorbtion, and the skid resistance.

The main purpose I see my granite used for is walls and flooring of buildings.

Edited to add this;

BS 5390:1976 - WITHDRAWN (replaced by BS 5628-3:2001) Would you happen to have this replacement?

I’ll email you over:

BS 5628 Pt3 2001, but its been superseded by:

BS 5628 Pt3 2005

BS 1341:2001 For testing. But it is for external paving, maybe you need it if you intend to sell it for that purpose.

EN 12440:2008 If you’re selling it, you might need it.

Any more let me know.

Wow thank you I wasn't aware it had been changed again so checked online and saw that it's been changed one more time to the following;

Replaced By BS EN 1996-1-2:2005, PD 6697:2010, BS EN 1996-3:2006, BS EN 1996-2:2006
Replaces BS 5628-3:2005

You've done so much for me already and I can't thank you enough. PM me your address and I'll have my sister send over a bottle of your favourite tipple.
