Employment Wanted
Discussion
Evening all.
I am on the verge of leaving my current employment & i need to get another job asap. Had a number of boring office jobs over the years although i do have motor trade, motor sport & motor museum experience.
Although i am on the wrong side of 50 i want to work in the motor trade if possible although i have no qualifications to speak of.
Anyone got any idea's or aware of any jobs going in the Gloucester area? I have been on the PistonHeads jobs website however there isnt anything suitable for me.
My ideal job would be working back in the classic car trade although i am willing to consider anything.
Thank you.

I know it says there is currently a recruitment freeze, but I understand expressions of interest will be being sought from external candidates shortly. That doesn't necessarily mean there will be any vacancies, but it costs nothing to stick your name on the list when it goes live.
However, if you are successful, don't whatever you do mention it on here

Would be a good idea if you got your CV sorted and signed up to Reed.co.uk
They're an online recruitment agency that updates daily and tells you how many have applied for the job that you're interested in and that's advertised from their site. It's useful as you put your location in and add a 'various mile' radius that you'd consider applying for jobs.
I would suggest, as you're over 50, that you look into self-employment ideas. There are a lot of people chasing each job and, whether fair or not, being the wrong side of 50 isn't generally known as a plus point.

Would you actually recommend someone to work for the HA Traffic Officer Service?http://www.highways.gov.uk/jobs/14699.aspx
