Do you enjoy work?

Just a general question really - the reason I ask is because I am currently in a job I just don't like.
Everyday is a drag and I hate it, Sundays depress me to a point where I am in a poor mood because I know the working week is coming up.
The more I think about it, the more I realise happiness > wage. Obviously a balance would be ideal, but at 21 years old, I can't carry on like this haha.
I am aware most work sucks, but I am not having that this is the same for everyone.

I was bored of my last job in engineering, was there 15 years but couldn't face another 30 so looked for a change. Its a big decision to change careers when you have a mortgage and 2 children. The trouble is, there aren't many people prepared to train up someone in their mid 30's. In the end I applied to be a trainee train driver. Well 3 years later and I've been driving for 2 years and I really enjoy it. It was a lot of hard work but I don't regret it for a second.
I love what I do but I hate how the people I work for make it difficult to do it properly because they are more interested in boxes being ticked, reports, metrics and meetings to discuss what you no longer have time to do because you are in yet another meeting.
So no, I guess I don't enjoy work but potentially could if I moved.
I love mine. Really varied work.
It's either busy but fun, or quiet and I get left alone.
I get paid peanuts and my 'office' has no windows and some walls are made of mouldy bricks. It's freezing in the winter and boiling in summer.
But I get to choose my own vans, and no one monitors what I do all day.
If you don't enjoy your job, move. Life's too short to do something you hate for half your waking hours.
ETA - and the coffee's fantastic and 30p a mug.

Odd answer perhaps but I flip between 'yeah, it's not a bad job' to 'can't stand it - want to quit'. Got to the point of carrying around a resignation letter ready-to-sign and did the 'just pay me, f8ck you' attitude at appraisals (whilst keeping up the good work). Think the situation has improved now that they know i'm quite happy to walk out and thus completely honest about work matters - unlike some of other staff who are too scared and need to play orifice politics.
I am one of the rare few that actually love my job.
I frequently work 70+ hours a week, but it's easy when you enjoy the job and the people around you. Sure the pay and expenses helps but the scale, danger and excitement is what makes it so interesting and enjoyable.
For years I hate what I was doing, I even considered a complete change of career. You just have to keep looking to secure another job, being selective about what you apply for.
There is nothing worse than that Sunday morning feeling.
If you actually enjoy your job and look forwards to going to work it's life changing.

Who actually likes/dislikes their office environment - as distinct from the people and the work?
My firm supplies plants to people's offices; our core aim (as I keep drumming in to my staff) is 'to make people's offices look nice'.
I can go in to two adjacent office buildings with exactly the same floorplan, and it's amazing how different decor, lighting, a few plants (obviously
) can make the overall atmosphere. Some places just look far nicer to work in, without knowing a thing about what the staff do.
Of course, because of what we do, my office looks like this:

Good question. There are a lot of aspects and challenges I enjoy in my job, and the money is pretty reasonable. I did a complete about-turn nearly 4 years ago from a technical sales role with lots of perks such as international travel - just to the point that it is still exciting and not to the point it got tedious. I now work in property management and it is long hours and stressful- I'm undecided if the stress is down to the role and hours, or my often considered negativity brought on by whether I'm concentrating on outstanding issues or pride of well managed issues. My standpoint varies a great deal.
Leave for work at 7:00am, a no meeting day get home at 6:00pm. A meeting day, which varies between 1-4 a week can have me home at 9-10pm. The curious thing about this is that it tends to be the after-hours meetings that energize me, and others speak of the same.
The flipside of this is that outside of work I do nothing constructive, I see my body ageing, I see my health faltering and then I am subject to so much negativity, in that the nature of the job is most people contact you because they have a problem, and it's easy to focus on this. Also I don't feel I have self time to improve things.
I guess I do enjoy my job, only there's too much of it. And not enough of anything else. Surely there's more to life. I often go into work almost daring the outside world to push me over the 'f
k it, I'm gone' edge, too often teetering on that. And yet, often really enjoying helping folk out and/or putting idiots in their place.
