APL degree anyone?

Evening all.
I am thinking about getting off my butt at last and doing an APL degree (Accredited Prior Learning)
in engineering management.
Has anyone else done any sort of APL degree? How did it go and was it worth doing.

Not heard of an APL Degree before. APL is normally a term given to any credits you may be given gratis agaist proven and relevant prior learning to go towards a first or postgraduate degree you are hoping to undertake. How many credits you get will depend upon what you have done previously, the university you are applying to and what course you are hoping to start. It will still require you to do a lot of hard work. God luck.

Thanks for the reply. That is the general jist that i got. I wondered if anyone on here had actually done one.
it seems like a good idea, i'm trying to weigh up the pro's and con's of doing a degree before i leave the forces. I'm sure it would be of benefit long term, but if i go outside and become a plumber or a sparky for example, will i be wasting my time studying for 2 years.
Please let me know your thoughts and ideas.

No education is wasted. If you have the desire, the finances and the support, continue with learning. You never know when it will come in useful.

No mate. the way it would work is i would submit a portfolio with evidence of my background and will be awarded a certain amount of points. I then choose from a number of topics/subjects from their database to add to the points, eventually gaining enough for a full degree.
