E60 and iPhone

I have an iPhone now which I was thinking of putting music on and playing through the USB via the BMW cable. I currently use a iPod but Mrs Grouch wants it now as I have an iPhone. The trouble is I have to have the bluetooth turned on and then connect it to the cable. There is interference when in a call (buzzing) and the music does not automatically return when call is finished. Is this a common thing with iPhone?

On my E92 my iPhone would pause music while on a call and restart when completed. also the voice commands work a treat when all hooked via bluetooth.

Never used the cradle though.
