Mines a 53 plate and i had my insp 2 done at the main dealers about 3 yrs ago, cost £1100. Ive started using a good indy now as the value of the car is less than half it was when i bought it so it doesnt make sense to me paying dealer labour costs now.

A good indy will charge £700ish for an insp 2.Its not really something you should tackle yourself as it is a thorough service and check including valve clearences and any potential future buyers of your car will want to see the insp2 done by a dealer or a good indy.

Your service manual will show you exactly what each service entails.

You should have a bmw service booklet, its the one that gets the stamps after the service.Have a look towards the back and it shows the 3 different services and what each one consists of.
