Wow - new tyre prices for E9x M3
Discussion
Sorry just had to rant about the cost of a new set of tyres for my beloved m3. Don't get me wrong, I always align my expectations of of running costs according to the car I purchase, but could have sworn the tyres were cheaper than this just six months ago.
So I've put a new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports on all 4 corners at 270 for the fronts and 355 for the rears (which equates to 1250). A quick check on the net reveals this is about right, but has anyone managed to get these tyres cheaper or have you gone with a cheaper alternative?
Does anyone have any strong views on tyre choices for the e9x M3?

Blame it on a combination of raw material prices (oil & rubber), plus the poor £:€ exchange rate.
I'm guessing you've got the 19" wheel option then.
18" PS2 tyres for the M3 are £186/£236 front/rear respectively (from Camskill) - and they only list the PSS in extra load versions (but at a similar price).
19" PS2 tyres for the M3 are £234/£308 front/rear respectively (from Camskill).
19" PSS tyres for the M3 are £248/£332 front/rear respectively (from Camskill).
Although Costco usually offer 20% off a set of 4 fitted.

Yeah I've got the 19's and you are probably right that commodity prices are the culprit here. I had heard that Costco do the 20% offer every now and then, but I'm not a member but looks like I could shave £100 off the price next time round, which is enough to fill the tank with petrol with a few snacks on the side. If you can believe michelins claims, the super sports should last longer than the PS2's they replace.
