E92 M3 Exhaust Upgrade! Worth it?
Discussion
i have been told about a tubi style sports exhaust system.
There are two options available for this car – the Normal version and the Rumore version. The Normal version is a system designed for those who are looking for a power increase and a weight decrease, while maintaining a sound level which is similar to the stock system, but with the famous Tubi howl note it enables the V8 to produce. The Rumore system is a much bigger increase in sound volume, but maintains the amazing tonal quality of the normal system. The only difference between the Normal and Rumore system is the volume.
It costs about £2k fitted with VAT. Sounds the nuts, but is it worth it or should I just buy a Porsche?

do you have one?
Yup. I've got a rumore (most sold are rumore supposedly) on an E39 M5. Its lovely. Refined and slightly louder most of the time but when you 'press on' it's seriously incredible.I have literally watched a grown man fall over from shock and bus stops full of people jump and scream. Cruel but very very funny.
The Evolve exhausts also sounds pretty good. Seem well designed as well.

Hi
Tye06 - exhaust notes from after market systems is open to all sorts of opinions and discussion and subsequent recommendations. With that, you'll be recommended every system that's out there !
I'm not very impressed by the sound of a standard Porsche 911 Turbo at full chat really. Around my way, pretty much each evening there's always a selection of Porchaes, BMW's, Merc AMGs, Lambo's, Ferrari's, Scooby's etc etc blatting around and often at wide open throttle. I remember thinking what the hell is making that rubbish sound and looked around to see the 911 blast past, even my doggy was looking at it and thinking it sounded papp!
Youtube video's give some idea as well, but not like what you hear in real life. Different exhausts have different characteristics from manufacturer to manufacturer and even within their own ranges - Eisenmann do the Race and Street (is that the name of the quieter one?) for instance.
the thing with choosing these systems is that they have that set sound. If you put on an Eisenmann, Remus, Milltek or Supersprint etc you get 'their' sound. If you go to a specialist exhaust maker like Hayward and Scott or Magnaflow, you discuss with them the type of sound you want and they'll make it for you. If you then decide you want it louder or quieter you can take it back to them and they'll adjust as part of their customer service.
As you are considering changing a car becuase of the exhaust note, I'd look into this option for a custom made high quality system first!
Cheers, Dennis!
