Hi all, wondered if anyone could advise?
I have a late 04 M3 Convertible, last week DSC fault light came up on dash, when i restarted the car it had gone out, been fine up untill yesterday, now fault light is on all the time.
I know this is hard to believe, but car has only done 12500 miles from new [3rd car]
I live in S/W France now, and its not really that easy to get the car to a registered dealer, car is from UK. Anything that I can check, relays fuses etc?
Any advice would be appreciated, before i have to take to main dealer.

ABS Sensor is usually the culprit.

I would expect that an ABS sensor fault would trigger the ABS warning lamp as well as DSC. SFM, are there any other lamps on? Any other symptoms or recent events that you can recall?

Thanks for the replies
The lights that are on, are the DSC warning, and the brake light, but in amber not red [as in when handbrake is on.
Where are the ABS sensors situated?

The ABS sensors are wheel speed sensors. One at each hub behind the disc, but it's not an ABS sensor that is causing this because if one was faulty the ABS warning would be on as well.

Mine gave the exact same warning lamps when a rear suspension bush failed and the steering was off centre. DSC threw in the towel because the inputs from the steering angle sensor didn't make sense. With your mileage it's unlikely to be that. Common causes are steering angle sensor or it could be one of two pressure sensors in the braking system. I'm afraid that with nothing else to go on you will have to get the fault codes read.

Be interested in hearing what the dealer has to say.

I have this problem on my E46 330i at the moment. Had all 4 wheel speed sensors off (rears where very dirty) and cleaned them up, but no joy in fixing the issue.

Have just had the fault code read and it is 5E21 which is Pressure Sensor 2 failure (5 codes logged showing the pressure as all over the place!). Pressure sensors are about £80 + VAT each. Will look to replace mine over the next week or so.
