As promised, finally got round to taking a few snap shots and a quick vid of the Haywood & Scott exhaust fitted to my E61.
Unfortunately, they dont really do the car justice and look/sound even more special in real life!

See what you think anyway smile

Vid can be found here:-

ffs I've just spent 10 minutes looking at M5 touring because of you.

Now if I can only convince the wife that its easy to drive I think I might join the club. Fantastic car and looking at prices they look great value too!

What is the ground clearance? The OEM ones have a quite significant kink to clear the rear axle - the H&S ones seem a bit better?

Sounds a lot more highly strung in real life and theres even a bit of pop and banging on the over-run for good measure!

Cant say Ive noticed any uneveness and they both smoke the same when its really cold on start up. (I presume you mean the balance of exhaust gasses?)

Car wasnt warmed up properly when I took the vid so chances are it was a bit of condensation just in one of the pipes only.

Id say its a little less than OE but I havent had any issues with grounding

One of my pet hates with aftermarket exhausts, but no drone whatsoever smile

The phrase 'come over all unnecessary' suddenly popped into ma heed.

Not usually a fan of overtly large diameters but somehow, this works.

How drives it with the extra 2"?

I'm also fascinated by the brutality of the silver 4x4... yikes

Good work, all round. Hail to thee.

Right, why did i listen to all the nay-sayers back in Jan? That sounds awesome. I had one on order and it seems the masses got it wrong with their 'H&S are not very good' opinions. The proof is quite obviously in the pudding. An embarrasing return call to order another one is on the cards i think, although im not sure about the burnt tips, maybe a bit Jap for me.

You need a video of acceleration too though. smile

Sounds great!

My major concern would be losing the induction noise as I think it's one of the best features of the engine, does it make any difference?

Love the wheels too. Great looking car.

Cheers! beer Drives pretty similar to be honest, still a fair chunk of sidewall on (same tyre profiles as a regular 5er on 20" wheels)

Yes, the merc is quite a brute and drives accordingly!

Eddie, dont think you'll be dissapointed. One thing of note, I think my car was the first one they did as it features on their website with its old SY07 plate(before I bought it). I know they build to order, so maybe worth asking the exact spec of the one on mine, so the sound is similar.

Not me, I presume it was the previous owner who had it fitted. Did speak with them before I bought the car, but thats as far it went.

Eddie, sent you a PH email a while back - did you get it? Maybe we can organise an E61 bulk buy?!

Hi mate, yeah i remember now. Do you fancy giving H&S a call and seeing if we can get a discount on getting 2 or 3 made?

Will give them a bell. Sounds like you might want stainless tips rather than the blued Ti? I fancy plain stainless tips like the E39 M5. And not too loud either.

Yeah, i'd like t to look as standard as possible and with exactly the same sound as the system above. I believe they have only made 1 for the E61.

625 plus VAT is the standard price, 2 systems would be 600+VAT including fitting. Anyone else interested? They'll do virtually any tip shape/size/style desired.

3 to 4 weeks. What's the rush; you've been on the fence for months. wink
