General opinion seems to be that they have very nice cars at premium prices.

The problem with ML is that under the previous owners they pissed an awful lot of people off in the M Power "scene"

From the E30 M3 timing chain myth, to poor customer/garage relations, to the way they looked down their noses at anyone not looking to spend way over the odds for a car, (not all their cars are worth it!) to stories of cars not being repaired properly, or work not required being called up, or even more worrying, stories of cars having parts swapped whilst in their care...

(I experienced at least 3 of those before and during my ownership of an M3.)

Now of course the Halses have moved on (to Classic Heroes if you want to avoid them) but my understanding is that it was the remaining members of staff that took over. So whether anything will/has actually changed I cannot say. If you've been doing something a certain way for decades, just because the cat is away doesn't mean the mice will change. The low mileage Sport Evo on their website looks to have had some paint in it's life, and there's no mention of History or even a price. (which is pretentious when a car is less than £1/4M and suggests they price according to how you look) Yet is described as exceptional.

I would suggest going there to get a feel for your chosen model. But take anything they tell you with a 2kg bag of salt. Personally I'd buy privately. But advise you to get a RAC/AA Inspection if you are not mechanically minded.

I hear the new owner wants ML to be top notch and is putting his money where his mouth is.....so hopefully things will change and get it back up to where it should be?

I presume this is the same owner who posted on forums all over the place demanding we delete our old disparaging posts on the company.

I guess that was part of his strategy. Forget about what's gone before, let's move on and see if we can be at the top of our game again? Not sure, just what I had heard.

Never really had any dealings with them myself. I did ring for some advice once.....they got back to me a couple of days later with completely the wrong advice, so not bothered since.

Remember that, have generally avoided them as a result.

I used them for a SOR and was satisfied enough.
