M6 convertible.... Owners thoughts...

They`re lovely. The end!
Seriously they`re a great GT with the benefit that the roof comes off, it`s a great looking car with the roof down too, IMHO.
Get one from BMW approved and squeeze them for 2 years warranty. They quite often do used car events where you get this as standard. Don`t get one without full leather (not extended), while it is a very well equipped car as standard there are quite a few choice options as well.
They are a ridiculous bargain at the moment, best time to buy. Think about it, you`ll get a good low mileage 2007 with warranty for circa 37K ish. How much more would you have to spend to get a naturally aspirated V10 convertible with 500bhp+ if it wasn`t for the M6? My guess would be 90K R8. Even then they`re not half as usable as the 4 seat + luggage M6. One of the major benefits for me is that it`s quite understated as well; works really well going to see clients.
I love mine, yes they`re thirsty beasts and yes the gearbox when pootling could be better but there`s little that comes close for sheer aural delight; hearing the V10 scream upto 8250rpm with the roof down is motoring nirvana. On top of that you have Germanic build quality and a car that will really surprise you on the twisties as well as the straights.
I`ve looked at (and driven) possible replacements, Grancabrio, Conti cabrio, R8 but I`ve decided to hang on to it until it`s dancing donkey time.
