Myself and Phelix are heading on over to H&S on the morning of the 24th to get an exhaust fitted. We've got a discount on 2 systems but there is further discount to be had with more customers. Anyone else fancy it? Currently 720 quid inc fitting.

Have they got another branch or is it the Basildon one you'll be at? If so, I might come say hi. Have a look over your cars as I'm still contemplating owning one

And 720 seems a good price!

Its the Basildon site that we'll be trecking to. Might have to detour via the Hindhead 'speaker box' on the way home.

Well if you don't mind, I'll pop down in the skyline to try and get some charge in the battery.

Do they stock the system or make it up there and then?

Is Phelix's car a touring too?

Yes, Phelix also owns a lardy barge.

Good question; I'm expecting just the factory back boxes to be replaced, roughly from the rear axle line aft. See http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E61N/Touring/Eur...

Shame the return trip will be on the QE2 bridge rather than the Dartford tunnel!

I'd be careful with H&S. Got one for my E60 M5 and it was too loud for my liking....

If you want the full V10 noise you have to do secondary cat delete aswell & de-cat the manifolds. I don't think back boxes will be enough, well wasn't for me!

I don't think we are trying to achieve what you had Haggy. All we are looking for is a mild volume increase, not the unleashing of hells own sound system.

Well I cant pop down in the skyline as the battery exploded last Sunday. Got a problem with the alternator (obviously)

Gonna get rid of both now and get an E60

Surely not! Thats cutting it a bit fine. Best you can do is phone them and see what they can do on price mate. They have to custom build the boxes and i know that they were doing Phelix's and my box on wednesday in prep for tomorrow.

Phelix and i met at H&S this morning to have our backboxes fitted. It was a very quick turnaround with both cars taking approx 45 mins each to get fitted up. The guys were very professional and the fact you can observe them hand making these systems is testiment to the quality. Im very impressed with the sound and the look. I opted for a standard look with the sound being not too loud, just enough to impress. Phelix has the same sound system but went for the E39 look cut off pipes with no rolled adge, and a satin finish.

It was a very enjoyable drive home getting to know the new system. Its quite loud down low (3krpm to 4krpm), quietening to a high pitch, F1 style output in the upper raeches. A very sensible system indeed.
Oh, and Hindhead Tunnel is very good.
