The results of a day with The Wheel Specialist: http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/
The wheels are a bit darker than what i had initially expected them to be, but actually im really glad they are. Had they been lighter there would have been no point having them done. The colour is Anthracite.

Fantastic, one of the best looking M5's I've seen, the wheels are spot on.
On a separate note Eddie, I've been following your threads on the clutch issues with the SMG and identifying the release bearing problem. I am in the market for an M5/M6, spotted a nice M5 with full BMW warranty, 38k miles but hasn't had a new clutch yet; just wondering if I can diagnose the bearing problem myself with a test drive and if the BMW warranty will now cover its replacement? Any help appreciated.

Ref the bearing issue. Its either there or its not. You'll know if it is. Once its warmed up it'll judder as you pull away in 1st (not any other gear). If its not there you wont know til its too late. Its a difficult one to diagnose before its already dead, 6 and two 3's.On a separate note Eddie, I've been following your threads on the clutch issues with the SMG and identifying the release bearing problem. OK thanks.
And have BMW taken preventative measures now, where it's correctly greased up if I get a fresh clutch etc.?
Not yet, its all very dependant on where your car goes and if you are pushy enough to enforce it. Some dealerships will tell you it doesnt need greasing and others will agree with the facts put in front of them. Basically, the more you can learn about your car the more you can take to the dealership as ammo to get the work done right. Scotthall were fantastic with me, but my local dealership Wood of Bournemouth were downright awefull. I wouldnt give them the steam from my breath now. Shop around when getting the work done, its very tribal out there. And have BMW taken preventative measures now, where it's correctly greased up if I get a fresh clutch etc.?

I like 'em! Although I think you now need to de-chrome the grills to complete the look!
I dunno, having seen some fully blacked-out M5's i feel they can look a bit OTT and that the owner has gone too far. I think the chrome adds a little highlight to the lines. I need to remember that its still a family car and not a bad-boy-pimp-mobile.
Again, had it been a saloon i think we could go that far and black out everything, but subtlety i think is the E61's key and any mods should be very slight.
