No more than 12 but not really by much :S ..... Tbh I'm shocked in march I paid around 18 for it so to loose 4-5 in it is shocking in my book.

I was looking at a Exige 240 GT3 Cup ( essentially a track focused limited run Exige)

Anyway at that price there isn't a chance ii'll consider changing.

no one wants a car with a "big engine"...

...which is a lot of rubbish as the Z4MC would easily do 30mpg sitting just below 3000rpm (75mph) on the motorway.

the more i look at mine, the more i think i will probably keep it too... wanted to sell it, run the M5 for 2 years and then buy another Z4MC as a cheap toy... but then I would be buying an unknown, while I have had YF06HLP since, well 2006...

I competely agree, I managed a proper 32 mpg driving Edinburgh to Guildford and back a month ago and driving in town I get 24-26 which isn't bad. My issue is it does have that special feel my 111R of the exile I drove to today has. Think it's down to feel, the lotus always felt like a go kart something different the z4 is bloody capable and never feels like you have to be track prepped to drive it... Hmm anyway maybe CSLs might be nice and get the geo sharpened up?

You are comparing apples and oranges. The beauty of the Z4MC is that it is a Jekkyl and Hyde car. The loti are a one trick pony. I drove from Calais to Villars in mine in 8hrs and came out of it relatively fresh. I would not drive a lotus for more than a couple of hours if I can fit in it to start with. Yet the Z4MC will be fun on track. Not on the same level, admittedly, but still a lot of fun. If you chuck at the bid/offer spread, I think you may surprise quite a few loti...

Sell it privately. At the right price it will go quickly.

I had an exige and is was a fantasic car but i took it on a day trip into north wales one weekend and by the time i got home i thought i was going to die and my misses refused to ever get in it again, Where as my Z4MC would do the same trip no worrys at all still feeling freash at end of trip, My coupe has been to the ring this year as well, It was great to drive there and back and excellent round the ring, So it May be worth hanging onto your Z4 you never know maybe even worth a few quid in the future,

Yep, although we keep hearing 'no one wants cars with big engines' that is, of course, not universally true. Enthusiasts still do, and your car is a specialist car which, if priced correctly, will sell quickly privately.

quite a few on the market now so I would wait until next spring and then sell it. of course the car you want might also follow the same price pattern....... so you might be saving nada.

on the other hand i also think that the car is under appreciated. In time, I think we will all miss the big engined, unconventional brute that the M boys built.... which they will build no more...

I'm in the same boat as you cooper s i bought an e60 m5 in march for nearly £20k, went for a trade in today just to see what i'd get and they said top £14k. WHAT i said your taking the piss! tbh selling privately is the only way for these types of cars as dealers tens not to take high spec engine cars. Robbing b*****ds though

Yeah they are also trying to put people off trade-in with cars like these at present as they are scared they'll be collecting dust on the forecourt for too long.

Don"t let a trade in value bother You.

The dealerships have to think of their own margin.

Your car when purchased for 18k would have been worth 25% less trade.

I was amused when I popped up to hexagon and they had a z4mc, almost a replica of my old one up at 23k last year. He offered me 15k for my car. They have to make a margin but that took the mickey!

Sold mine a month ago in just over a week privately to an enthusiast and got very close to asking price. I was also offered silly money by the trade so I wouldnt worry too much. Advertise it at a realistic price and as long as its a decent spec/condition you shouldnt have any problems.

12k. That is extracting the urine.
On the other hand I have owned 2 Exiges and drove one of them to Edinburgh from Southampton and thought it was extremely comfortable. As did the wife.
It did have probax seats though.
Just my 2 pennies worth.

It's always been the case. Dealers mark up is about 7k on most second hand cars. Motto and I've learnt this the hard way don't change your cars so often.
