hi i have got a m3 evo e36 1996 this has been completly stripped out for track use only,we took the heater box out, but later decided to run the car with one in, so we put a standard heater box in out of a 318 e36, and standered dials (manual)problem is i only have hot air all the time even if turned off,may be we have done something stupid that can be simply changed ? who knows. but one thing is for sure this weekend at a track day at woodbridge i sweeted so much i have lost weight lol. any suggestions are welcomed.

If the car had climate control then the coolant flow to the matrix would have been regulated by electronic valves, How are you controling coolant flow at the minute?

Believe that if the heater valve is not connected they default 'open' which would explain your heat all the time issue.

There maybe different heater valves for A/C and non A/C cars as I would guess your car no longer has A/C.

AT THE MOMENT THE HEATER MATRIX IS CONNECTED STRAIGHT TO THE COOLENT SYSTOM IN THE CAR VIA THE 2 PIPES UNDER THE INJECTION SYSTOM, THERE IS NO VALVE TO CONTROLE THIS AT THE MOMANT , BUT I HAVE GOT ONE OF A 318, SHOULD WE PLUMB THIS IN AND WILL IT NEED WIRING ?

.....and you wonder why the above is occurring?

Yes fit a valve, yes it will need wiring.
