Anyone on here have access to the CAP black book?

I have just been offered £14k on a 2007 Z4M with 20500 miles and no sat nav.

Seems a bit on the low side. frown

Seems about spot on for trade in - as they don't want big-engined cars.

Someone on the Z4-Forum was offered £12k for a similar model with 40,000 miles.

I couldn't even get a firm price on mine when I was looking to trade in against a 1M, as was told the prices were changing weekly and I'd have to order one before they'd put a firm price into the paperwork.

Got offered the same from the trade and sold for £4K more privately. Traders can afford to be cheeky with this type of car.

I dont get my car until October but decided to sell before winter bites as this will affect values again. I'm now driving around in 16 year old MR2 thats worth less than £1K until the new car arrives. Advertise it now at a realistic price and it will go. If you need transport until the 1M arrives then buy a banger that isnt going to spunk a load of money in 4-6 weeks.

I would avoid px ing at all costs as dealers have verbal diaoreah {hope thats the right spelling} wmen they try and tell you how much your car is not in demand etc B S champions. Private selling is always better

Psst: I'm going to be buying a Z4M Coupe in the next few months so instead of taking a punch to the groin with a trade-in, contact me first biggrin

Traders are always the ones to tell what you need to hear when buying and what you don't want to hear when selling. The big engined theory is applicable to mainstream buyers, but the Z4MC is not a mainstream car and will always appeal to the enthusiast. Sell it privately if possible. That said private buyers are fewer at the moment due to the climates - economic and planetary, so the well priced well specced cars will command the most.

Some people are in a trap though as they have outstanding finance and clearing that prior to private sale could be an issue I guess.

What about the 1 M Coupe? Thats not exactly a small capacity engine is it? They are in great demand at the moment.

new car, easy to finance I expect and in 12 months I expect early £30k's will buy you one.
