Hi chaps. Just looking for some helpful advice. I've got a 2002 E46 M3 which has had a panel filter fitted and a de-cat. As such I want to get the engine remapped on a rolling road to ensure it is all as it should be and giving its best. Any ideas on where to go? A few of the normal guys offer a remap but this isnt bespoke to the individual car set up so wont necessarily deal with any mods as effectively as possible. Thoughts appreciated.

Don't bother, I've only seen one remap on an E46 M3 ever actually give more power, despite what people claim

Thanks for that - a couple of the remap guys gave similar advice. I am right in thinking that the ECU will compensate for any additional flow through the engine as a result of the decat (I can live with the CAT light illuminated!). I ran a V8 for a while on a prehistoric ECU and it couldnt cope with any peripheral changes without running lean/rich or not at all!

Should be fine on an E46 M3, you can get more power out of them with a remap, but since most of the remap companies in the Uk are either Criminals, Rip off artists or simply have no idea what they are doing. I'd not bother.

Good lord.

Do a search for Evolve remaps and read the reviews / look at the maps / speak to someone who has had a remap done.

There are small gains to be had ( 10-15bhp) but the drivability is night and day.

They do remote remaps if you don't dont want to travel.

Cant speak highly enough about their map or their service.

the ECU will not be able to compensate for the de-cat. The E92 M3 ECU (the most sophisicated BMW ECU ever) cannot compensate for a de-cat.

I've personally used Evolve (in Luton) and can thoroughly recommend them but take a look at m3cutters.co.uk for personal reviews.
