Picked up my M Coupe today :D
Discussion
Thanks for the nice reply's guys. It's a December 08 so must be one of the later ones! It really is fantastic, going to take her on a long drive today but going to take it very easy until i get to grips with the way it drives. It's a very different drive to the Boxster S i owned, both fantastic in their own ways! The M feels a real event just even looking at it in the driveway!
My dad owns a cayman s and he's going to take the M out later to compare! I will report back with his thoughts.

Having had a few good runs in the cayman I can vouch for it's precision and balance and makes you feel like you are Jenson Button the king of smooth! I've only had a quick spin in the M which feels more meaty and less serious, maybe more of a Lewis Hamilton perhaps. Both awesome cars, can't wait for some more adventures in the M to get to know it a bit more

Love it! This is exactly why i want one, they look like so much fun to drive.
Glad your still enjoying yours, proper drivers car imo.
I previously had a Cerb too...Glad your still enjoying yours, proper drivers car imo.
The difference is that whilst you can eat up the road in a Cerb, if you get it a bit out of shape you'd swear it's trying to kill you.

The z4m just seems like a car that could rekindle the fun factor again, they look controllable with you just sitting over the rear wheels & more useable.
Great choice of cars by the way you have had.

Out of interest after driving the M Coupe on the 18s today, and note that you run the 19CSL's, my Cayman is far harder and almost crashes over bad surfaces, the M on 18s is ok, although the front feels a little weird and does not promote a high level of confidience like the Cayman it feels very relaxed and won't give you a headache. How is your M on the 19s?
People will disagree, but i think the difference between 18s & 19s is marginal.
a bit more grip and picking up ruts from the wider tyres, slightly firmer due to smaller sidewalls.
but you'll get as much difference from switching new/used tyres or tyre brands
.. it may be worth checking your tyre pressures and what the wear is like.
Custard
PS when i test drove a couple of caymens i thought they felt more refined than the Z????
