Just wanted to say hello, just picked up a sensible car for the winter.

2001 Imola Red

CSL alloys
HID's
Widescreen, TV and Nav
Focals

Needs a front wheel bearing but will be done tomorrow, just had inspection 2.

Looking forward to it.

Thanks, needs a good clean. Couple of things to sort out.

Bolster button missing,
Bolster worn a little
Warning lamps
Tyres have seen better days, and the wheels need a refurb but are genuine.
Ipod?
Phone needs sorting

I want one of these very badly.
How is the Imola Red?
Does it look OK in the flesh?
I had kind of limited myself to Carbon Black or Estoril Blue.

Jealous...

I'll put some photos up

Thinking of going charcoal on the wheels, what do you reckon. Any photos of Imola with anthracite wheels?

Imola is a great colour imho as is carbon black.

Just came out of an e60 520d Msport (Ex company car), but that was le man blue and again a great colour.

Valeted with the wheels refurbed it will look great I hope! I'll put up some pictures.

Nice colour choice. Ive a 2003 "52" Imola red one. Had a 2004 "54" Carbon black one a few years ago.
Mine has an Imola red interior too, which I never ever thought would go in a red car, but as mine is Piano black as well it suits it.

I clocked your TVR as well.

The Tuscan is in my garage at the moment with the rocker cover off, part way through the 12k service.

The M3 is the latest in a long list of BMW's everything from E21 through to an E60. I love my BMW's and the M3 is a fantastic car but the TVR is a totally different beast. I have been running the Tuscan as a daily driver and I love the emotion and experience. The M3 feels total comfortable (relatively) and safe , I can make more speed in it than the Tuscan across country but when the Speed 6 gets going, I miss the mid range of the Tuscan. The M3 feels like it needs to be reved harder but is more comfortable lower down as well. The Tuscan can be so annoying sometimes, it is like it is 90% the way there and they didn't bother to finish it! It is absolutely brutal and totally unpredicatable.

I think they are a perfect combination and I love them both for different things.

Re, the iPod...

Look up the Intravee kit. I have it on mine and can't fault it.

I really don't like my Intravee. I can't seem to get it to play by genre, and random.

Congrats on the purchase OP! Imola is a beautiful colour - but I may be biased!

I love these cars, and the Imola red looks great on the E46. I like how you consider this a sensible winter car!

Compared to a Tuscan it is almost sensible!
