Hi all, this keeps coming up for sale near me and is bloody cheap. I've looked at the ad a few times and can't help thinking i'm missing something.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-M3-CARBON-BLACK-BLAC...

I'm tempted by it but am i not noticing something blindingly obvious? It seems too cheap to me.

Near to me too! And I have spotted it on the 'bay a couple of times. From memory when it was on auction rather than classified advert it didn't make £6k.

If it really has got 14 BMW stamps it's got to be worth a look. Looks in fair condition from the photos.

If you have a look let us know how you get on.

Yeah, its been relisted a good two or three times hasn't it? I'm a bit of a mug for black ones of these too. I darent go and look at it or i'll come back with the bloody thing. A week later i suspect i'll realise i was better off with my evo.

What age and miles is your Evo? Any pics? I'm a sucker for a nice E36 (have had 2 x M3's of that era) and would actually prefer a good one to an E46 M3 I think.

Bmthnick, i think i just figured out who you are. I may have looked at a green evo you were selling a couple of years back. I had a silver 328i at the time.

Bloody loved that green colour on it, one of my favourites.

maybe its cheap because nobody has bought it, because the photos are very bad so you cannot see the true condition of the car??

There are some real bargains out there. This ***might*** be one of them. Why not see for yourself?

Thats me! Glad you got an E36 in the end - does yours have black vadars or alcantara? Let me know if you put it up for sale.

Last time that E46 M3 made £6100 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170701123552?ssPageName=...

I reckon you could get it for £6k if you wanted it.

Mines got black leather ones. Iirc you had a dark metallic m5 too? Again, colour really suited it.

I keep toying with selling mine for an e46, but apart from it being younger i'm not sure i'd gain anything.

You not tempted with that 46?

Yes I had an Avus Blue E34 M5 3.8 5 speed. Needed money spending on it so I sold it, bitterly regret doing so.

Mate had bad experience with Kartechnic but i've never used them myself. As I say I have found Stanfield Garage to be good, specialists but more of a backstreet feel compared to Kartechnic who are quite polished.

I am 'slightly' tempted by that E46 but with a new (to me) 740il and Clio Cup track car already i'd struggle to justify it. I think rather than spend £6k on that i'd rather spend £3500 - £4000 on a nice E36 and pocket the change.

I'd suggest it's worth a look - it's an early model, the miles are high so I doubt it would fetch that much as a p/x. It may be a hidden gem where the seller hasn't realised the actual value - thus putting off buyers as its "too cheap". Take only a deposit in your wallet - then you can't just walk away having done something silly smile

Tbh, when the e46's get to that sort of value, they are probably worth that in bits ...

I'd go & have a look at it, you never know, might be a gem!! For £6k.

Your E36 M3 looks fantastic in estoril WITHOUT the rear spoiler, and with the sunflower alloys, can't be many decent ones left now.

Also think they have the most cockpit-like/driver focused interior I have been in, more so than the E46, can see myself in another one at some point ;-)

Yeah, i ummed and ahhhed about ditching the spoiler but on the e36 coupe i reckon in this colour they dont need it. Estoril is a bit over the top to start with!
