Just bought E46 M3 coming from TVR land
Discussion
Hey guyz
Picking up my M3 at the weekend, pretty excited. Have owned many BM's, including E34 M5 3.8 and Hartge H5, 635csi, 540i and have just come from the world of the TVR Chimaera (which is simply awesome as well) and incidentally similar power to weight as the e46 M3
True BMW fan, it's also SMG which I totally love, generally well excited!!! Yay!!

Great cars! Ive been contemplating going the other way. tuscan / t350. would be interested to hear how they stack up!
Hi,I have had an E46 M3 for about 5 weeks now, and love it, but I also have had a Tuscan S Mk 1 for 5 years now, and they are totally different beasts. Both make me smile whilst driving, but the BM is more refined, whilst the Tusc makes me feel like it's an event every time I take her out. Straight line, Tusc all the way, round the twists, I would back the M3, either way they are both great cars

My cars I have are M5 touring and TVR Sagaris both resting in the UK at the moment, and anothe 530d est in my house in France
Ive had the M3 (coupe and conv) Y reg and brand new 53, loved both, 2 x 4.8is X5's and now the M5 which I love, but cant imagine life without the Sagaris aswell
Not sure whats next, I might sell the 530 + M5 and get another newer M5 tourer or the new rangey, but on french plates and LHD, and drive back and forward from france to UK and / or just drive in the Sag all the time

I took an older e36 M3 Evo as part exchange to my Cerbera with a view to moving it on. Ended up keeping it for over 3 years! Finally sold and moved to an E46 M3 conv SMG. Neither have the sense of occasion or the outright pace of the Cerb, but they are such great all-round cars that - compared to the Cerb - are cheap to maintain. I'm really smitten with my E46 M3.
Haha
Well, I love it. Had it a few days and took it for a proper loop today. Quite lively rear end with DSC off which is great news. I wondered if it'd be too restrained back there. It's not!
Once on the move (where power/weight are less noticeable) it's brutal and then you can just slip into auto...love that. Love SMG!!
Jimmydk, tell us more about the M6!??

Well....I was a very happy owner of a 2004 T350C but received an offer that got me thinking about what I could change it for. To be honest the TVR was just a little too much for me. That probably makes me a bit of a wimp but I missed the build quality of a BMW but didn't want to sacrifice the power so I went car shopping. Always been a massive fan of the V10 engine and I don't think we will see the like again so I put a few more grand in the kitty and picked this up at the weekend from a main dealer with 25k miles on the clock:

I put my T350 up for sale as I needed a 4-seaterand ended up with a very nice low mileage E46 M3 (30000 miles on 2002/52 plate). It is a great car but no way an outright replacement for the TVR - competence without the charisma?
That's why I kept the T350 as well! ;-)
Don't tell the wife it is in storage. Sssssssh
