I remember broadspeed were doing quite a good deal on the 1m, did anyone get one from them?

I just don't understand how the list price was under 40k and there weren't many options available, how can they be priced above 40k second hand.

As there were only 450 UK cars that are now all sold, if you really want one then 'you' will pay a premium for it, or that is what sellers believe........................it is interesting to note that of the few cars for sale in the PH classifieds the only car marked up as sold was priced sub £40K.

There were plenty of options available. My 1M was north of £47k.

Yeah, the most common spec I heard about from people ordering them (which was virtually everything except comfort access and electric seats) resulted in a 45k car...

The 2007 130iLE was a special 1 series, it is now worth less than half what it cost new.

The 1M is another special 1 series. Enjoy it.

I suspect it wont hold its value very well - the 'snob' in me says it is a tarted up 135i not a ground up built true M car.

This ulimately means (imho) that it is not a future CSL.

In which they also claim the 2008 Golf R32 "caught on as a prized collectible"

Really? confused

All this talk of future values seems pointless to me. If you're fortunate enough to afford one, enjoy it for what it is, expect to take as big a hit as any other similar new car and if it turns out that it holds it's value better than average then great.

50% after 4 years would atually be pretty impressive.

If you're so hung up on residial values, I can only assume that whatever you've chosen to drive / invest in is a genuine appreciating asset? For me, the only two things I care about are:

1) Am I going to have fun driving this for my ownership period
2) Will the residual value be greater than what's owing on it at the end of that period. For my 135i, I had £6.5K equity as a dealer trade-in. I don't expect to see the 1M perform any more poorly than the 135i did.
