Having my M3 wheels polished next week opposed to getting them diamond cut, has anyone got any experience of this?

Thanks

Alot of people do it on the M3Cutters forum.

Personally, i cant be ar5ed polishing them every 5 minutes during winter, so will just be getting a normal diamond cut/lacquer finish done on mine.

Bit bling for me as well im im honest scratchchin

I had mine refurbed to polished finish 18 months ago. They couldn't be diamond cut as too much metal had already been removed on previous refurbs.

I saw the wheels whilst in the process to being polished and they looked fantastic, but when I got them back finished with a coat of lacquer on they looked dull & disappointing.

So I recently removed the lacquer with nitromors, polished them with a well known automotive metal polish that I can't spell and sealed them with Collinite wax. They now look better than when newly diamond cut, really shiney & reflective - I can't stop looking at them now!!

I've had no problem with tarnishing, I wash the dirt off once a week (it's no chore now) and re-wax once every month or so.

Not sure the photo does it justice.

Do know how well they'll survive the road salt. I'll report back in the spring!

Couldn't get both pictures on one post for some reason.

Interesting. I need to get my wheels sorted. Is it alot cheaper to have the polished?

Cost me £300. But they had to be polished from diamond cut and there was some curbing to be polished out (the wife you understand!)
