Now I have not even had my E39 for a week and have just really got into reading the owners manual etc. Now when I bought the car last week the guy had just put new Perelli Tyres all round good news me thinks then he said since he put tyres on he has had this tyre fault thing coming up on the display and said he thought it was a sensor playing up.

So after reading a number of threads on the issue and how to reset it I thought I would give it a go but before that I thought I better chaeck all the tyre pressures were to the spec set out in the manual 2.4 bar front and 2.6 bar Rear, well to say they were under was silly fronts and rear had 30psi which was low all round so went out put the correct pressure in and set the gadget into set and took car for a drive Bingo all sorted but the difference in feel of the car with the correct pressures in the tyres was totally astounding in grip feel and everything.

I learned a vauluable lesson about tyre pressures needing to be correct today and just thought I would share

Sounds good. Also correct tyre pressures improve fuel consumption and tyre wear.
