Do M6 alloys fit an M5 Touring?

I have got the chance of buying some alloys off an M6, but I've been told the offsets are different. Does anybody know if I will have any problems putting them on an M5 Touring.

The fronts will but the rears won't. Different offsets so you'd need spacers. Look at bmminiparts.co.uk for the exact fitments.

I can't be certain this applies to the M5, but I have a 550i E61 touring.

All facelift tourings (perhaps with the exception of the M5)have 4 front wheels fitted, not a staggered setup as per the saloon. This was standard from the factory when spec'ing the 19" Spider rims.

Your rears are 9" wide and have an offset of 17mm, standard fitment M6 rear wheels are 9.5" wide with an offset of 17mm. In other words a set of M6 rears will stick out a further 0.5" than your wheels, which may create a clearance issue. If BMW went to the pain of making a slightly narrower wheel to fit the back of our cars and no other models, there must have been a reason, non?

This!

The later M5s, Tourer and Saloon had the option of M6 'style' wheels. That's what you have on your Tourer mate.

For your ref: the E61 M5 is unique in that it has a different rear beam to any boggo E61 or other //M car. Hence the fitment differences.

So saloon, touring and M6 rears are all different. If I want a spare set for an E61, they can only be off another E61, not the saloon or m6. Correct?

T'is correct squire. Never meant to be easy was it? Beware the ebay seller who swears blind his M5 wheels 'fit all M5's and M6's'. More of a myth than the story of Boadicea and her funky hair.

Same thing with the E39 and F10. Both front and rear wheels are the same width.

Powder coated black. One wheel with slight kerb mark. As new front tyres, 50% wear on rears. £600.

you can get them to fit quite easily. My touring is running both the saloon's 21" Hartge wheels and OE 19" wheels with 295 tyres as opposed to the correct 275 width.

Just need to get the rear arches rolled by a bodyshop.
