M3 E46 smg undiagnosable
Discussion
Sigh yes I am a female so this may sound girlish, any way i have a 2006 M3 competition pk if that matters, I have had the smg light on in my car for three months i took it in trying to save money to the local foreign car fix place they said it was a speed sensor "SUPER" not expensive really yeah! the excitement ended when less than a month later Bing it's on again, I took it back they said oh BMW has been having issues with faulty sensors arg so they ordered another one, I had the oil changed thinking lets get it all fresh. I turn they key drive to go get ice cream and bam SMG light, ok fine they said it was fixed and drivable i go in come out turn the key and nothing I make sure it's in "N" BUT ITS FROZEN LOCKED WILL NOT MOVE the smg is stuck!!!!! I leave the car there go home think pace a little go back and it starts right up?????? geez so I take it back they say no codes come up but the s sensor but they said it's fine, they update the computer software oh and not to mention the car was leaking oil they are such pros they call and say they have no diagnoses hundreds of $ gone and no direction ok sorry this is a long email, I take it to the actual BMW in town they have had my car for 4 days and they say they can't diagnose it either they can't even find a starting point? and that's with BMW assistance I lmostpaid for a diagnosis online via text? I am desperate!
xoxoxo Thanks
xoxoxo Thanks
Actually I mentioned to all three businesses about the salmon colored relay and they all laughed and said doubtful, I offered to pay for them to check it out but perhaps they believe it always has to be something bigger. So no I have not checked it and at this point the car is still on s lift on the shop I will again tell them to check it. Thanks
And to the hitting the pump much appreciated but it only happened once so far but I'll maybe try that of it happens again. Thanks very appreciated every thought Is helpful.

Can you hear your SMG pump priming when you unlock the car?
Have you charged your battery?
Have you changed alternator?
Salmon Relay?
Bonnet catches?
SMG Recalibration (from stone cold, leave overnight)?
SMG fulid been checked / changed?
What ALARM is on the ECU log?
Take it somewhere Reputable...

Take it to a proper specialist as well, 'local' garages wont have the 1st clue when it comes to SMG.
