Should I change the colour of my wheels?
Discussion
I’m currently sitting on the fence as to whether I should change the colour of my wheels on my Alpine White 1M?
I’m thinking of having them professionally finished in Satin Black (the same as the M3 GTS wheels pictured below). However I can’t decide if it’ll ruin the look of the car or actually look really good?

For reference, I’ve got black grills at the front, so the only silver shiny part left on the car is the exhaust (which I’d never touch) and the wheels.
Thoughts?

I personally think that gloss black does not work as well, as you lose some of the detail within the rim.
However you don't get this with Satin Black. My only problem is that I don't want the car to look rubbish, but equally, I'd like it to look a little different from stock.
Decisions, decisions!

I think that it would also look great in something half-way like gunmetal grey. However you don't get this with Satin Black. My only problem is that I don't want the car to look rubbish, but equally, I'd like it to look a little different from stock.

Hi
Only you can decide - some people love black wheels, others don't.
I say take some good high quality pictures of your car from multiple angles and get a suitably experienced photoshop expert to change the colours for you, try some different colours as well, even some different wheels to see what you like or don't like. So much cheaper this way than to buy something, put it on the car and then decide it looks rubbish!
A few months ago I was at the 'Ring and spotted this 1M with Type 3 ACS Racing wheels on it - I loved the look, however I can imagine the 'purists' running off into the hills wailing incomprehensibly that it's been 'ruined'...

Cheers, Dennis!

Thanks! That's convinced me not to do it.
you loose the style of wheel in my opinion, I run black on my track car and just spray them with a rattle can to cover up the many stone chips etc but on the 1M the competition wheel needs to be shown, looks spot on, I am booked in for the 21st mate for the hyper black finish, hang out until then ; )
