Hello all,

Looking to hear from any owners of High mileage M5 or M6's or anyone for that matter

Looking at this at Specialist Cars in Stevenage, just concerned with the mileage? Anything i should ask about or look at?

Just ensure its got a full service history. Its from BMW, so it'll have a warranty too.

High mileage doesn't mean its a bad example. If its sat doing 70mph on a motorway for its life, its had less wear than a car with half the miles on the school run.

Nice Colour combo..

I'd love one, just the 19 mpg that puts me off... Too much mileage..

I've been having a nose around M6's recently (among other things). It's a lovely colour combo but I'd say it's overpriced for the mileage compared to others on the market.

If you're serious about it I'd go in there with print outs of other AUC cars with lower mileage at lower prices and negotiate hard. If you're happy with the mileage and the price I'd make sure they throw in 2 years AUC warranty.

Let us know if you get it!!

my m5 had done more miles than that when i bought it and i've done a few miles since... feels like its only a year old with a fraction of the miles it has so from my perspective the mileage isnt an issue.

of cause i paid around half what that one is up for and mine is fully loaded so whilst its an M6 id say its overpriced

I dont think thats high mileage at all. Think about it; UK average annual mileage is 12k to 15k. That makes this car about right for its age, at least it will have been well used and maintained rather than left to rot and go stale. I saw 2 E61 M5's for sale last year at auction, both with over 100k miles. Bearing in mind the E61 didnt get released until 2007 thats a whole lot more extreme.

At 34k that'll be due a clutch and discs in about 10k miles. Thats why its cheap. Will have only just had its big service though, circa £1k.

Fair enough, at a cost of what circa £4-4.5K, bit more maybe, add that to the asking price and you get circa £28.5K, for a 35K mile '06 M6 just had big service new clutch and discs/pad.

Or, the alternative, a 05 67K miles M6 for £27K.

I know where my money would go.
