me & my mate were on about imola red the other day (in my search for a Z4MC), we really can't make our minds up about it???

we both thought it really suited the Z but after seeing the Z4MR csl thingy on the bmw owners club stand yesterday i'm off it again confused

i think it might be a model specific thing, it looks mega on M3's but on a normal 3 series coupe it looks dire imho, it's a really funny shade of red isn't it?

there is a simply beautiful M3 in the classifieds with bbs LM's on it & it just looks cloud9

405 is the paint code not production amount

^ Correct, 405 is the paint code & not the production number. I would imagine there are far less than 405 UK registered Imola examples anyway (just a guess mind).

I too would be interested in the production numbers of each colour if anyone has the info.

Mines Imola red, with an Imola red interior. Its Piano black trim, the red/ black goes really well IMO. Its a personal thing.

Update. 300 mile ish round trip to pick her up today. Nice drive back at good speeds aside from the miles and miles of 50 mph road works. A few bits that require attention but nothing too bad. Best of all I averaged 35.7 mpg and the the 330d auto my driver (lol)/ dad was in only managed 41.2. Mpg

in all seriousness i was driving through my home town telling my gf how rare imola red m3s were and how i'd never seen another one...only ever 1 for sale on autotrader...etc etc, when some d!ck drove past in one, as if that wasn't enough he tooted his horn, flashed his lights, gave me a thumbs up...only being friendly i'm sure, but it was neither the time nor the place.

and he was wearing a baseball cap... smile

nice car btw, paint looks fairly decent in the photos!
