A year ago I decided it was time to sell my e46 m3. I put up a few adds in the usual places (PH, Autotrader) however I only got 1 call after several weeks of advertising and never sold it. Decided to keep it as I love it to bits. I think the price was wrong rather than a poor advert or pictures which caused the problem.

I have written another advert and don't want to repeat spending £100+ on advertising so I'm here to ask you what you think the right price is for my car? I have a price in mind but could well be over valuing her again....

2003 (03) BMW E46 M3 SMG
Pre-face lift
Carbon Black with Black leather
Full service history - just had the latest oil service.
93,000 miles
3 previous owners
MOT until Aug 12
Harmon kardon
Sat NAV & Widescreen TV
Bluetooth
18" Wheels

Good condition (although wheels need a refurb).

I appreciate this could be viewed as an attempt to advertise my car, so i apologise to the mods in advance if this is breaking any rules.

Without seeing it I would say somewhere around £8000

With the market as is, 8k is a price youd probly get but will have to hang out for. 7495 will put a lot more interest your way imho if you want it goe fast. Any lower and it would look iffy.

I'd better not comment as I'm massively biased towards this car....

Think i'll try asking £7995 and then not move much during negotiations!

Cool, i just reckon a magic 7 on the front might get you more interest.

Spend a little money and get the wheels refurbished, touch in the stone chips etc, don't give buyers reason to knock you down on price. Give a really detailed advert. Personally I would want to know
Bodywork condition, any dents or scratches
Service history, list out when, where and the mileage, included brake fluid and coolant too and how long is left till its due again
Tyres, make and how much tread is left front and rear
Brakes, when these were last done
Any MOT and Tax remaining
Just make the advert as detailed as possible

I've listed most of the things you have suggested, - although not gone into any detail about dents (none!) or scratches. Will update it with a bit more detail now. Thanks.
